IN THE BEGINNING

Saturday's overtime loss marked the Wolves' first defeat of the season after opening up with six straight wins. The squad's 6-0-1-0 record (.929) to start the season is the franchise's best through seven games. Chicago is currently one of two teams in the AHL that has not suffered a regulation loss.

WOLVES HEADLINERS

--- ALEXANDRE GIROUX: Notched three goals and five points last week, which includes a season-high three points (G, 2A) on Wednesday and a season-best two goals on Friday ... Shares the team lead with three goals and ranks second with eight points in seven games ... Ranked second in the AHL with a career-high 42 goals and led the Hershey Bears with a career-best 70 points in 67 games last season.

--- STEVE MARTINS: Posted his second three-point outing of the season in Friday's win over San Antonio ... Leads the team with six assists and nine points in seven games ... Racked up 26 assists and 39 points in 48 tilts with Chicago last season.

--- FRED BRATHWAITE: Shares fourth in the AHL with four wins this season(4-1-0) ... Registered a 2.11 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage in five outings this season ... Led Wolves netminders with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage in 40 regular-season games last year while posting a 22-13-5 record and two shutouts.

--- JOEL KWIATKOWSKI: Registered season-highs with two assists and three points on Friday ... Shares second on the club and with five assists and third with seven points ... Notched 10 points (5G, 5A) in 41 games with the Florida Panthers and was held scoreless in one game with the Pittsburgh Penguins last season.

--- JESSE SCHULTZ: Held scoreless in his last three games after notching three goals and four assists in the first four outings of the season ... Shares the team lead with three goals and third with seven points in seven games this season ... Tallied 18 markers and 39 points in 67 games with the Manitoba Moose and was held scoreless in two games during his NHL debut with the Vancouver Canucks last season

WOLF TRACKS

--- The Wolves will play the second contest of a season-high seven-game road trip when they match up against the Quad City Flames for the first time on Friday.

--- Chicago has notched 23 goals in seven games this season, which includes netting at least four markers five times; Ten of the team's 23 goals have come in the first period.

--- Five different players currently share the team lead with three goals: JASON KROG, ALEXANDRE GIROUX, JORDAN LaVALLEE, STEVE MARTINS and JESSE SCHULTZ.

--- Saturday marked the first time this season that the Wolves did not post a power-play goal; Chicago ranks ninth in the AHL on the man advantage at 18.6 percent (11 of 59).

--- Chicago is allowing an average of 2.00 goals per game this season, third-fewest in the AHL.

--- Goaltender FRED BRATHWAITE thwarted a penalty shot in Saturday's loss in Milwaukee; Chicago netminders have stopped 12 of the 19 all-time penalty shot attempts in franchise history.

EYES WIDE SHUT

Saturday's loss in Milwaukee marked the 40th time in franchise history the Wolves were shutout and just the 10th time in 14 seasons of play - both regular season and playoffs - that the Wolves were blanked by a 1-0 margin.

WOLVES REWIND (2-0-1-0)

Sat., Oct. 27 (at) Milwaukee 1, Chicago 0 (OT)
--- After 62:49 of scoreless hockey, Milwaukee notched a goal in overtime to hand Chicago its first loss of the 2007-08 season, 1-0, at the Bradley Center
--- Netminder FRED BRATHWAITE posted 23 saves on 24 shots, which includes thwarting a penalty shot attempt midway though the third period

Fri., Oct. 26 (at) Chicago 4, San Antonio 1
--- The Wolves tallied three times in the opening 7:49 of the contest and never looked back, posting a 4-1 win over the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena
--- Center STEVE MARTINS and blueliner JOEL KWIATKOWSKI each collected a goal and two assists
--- Goaltender FRED BRATHWAITE notched 30 saves on 31 shots

Wed., Oct. 24 (at) Chicago 4, San Antonio 3 (SO)
--- Chicago forced overtime with 27.9 seconds remaining in regulation before grabbing a 4-3 shootout win over the San Antonio Rampage at the Allstate Arena
--- Center ALEXANDRE GIROUX netted the equalizer and added two assists for three points
--- Netminder FRED BRATHWAITE posted 24 saves in regulation and overtime and thwarted four of six shootout attempts
