Bulldogs Looking to End Losing Streak

The Hamilton Bulldogs (12-21-0-2) will look to end a two-game losing streak tonight when they take on the Rochester Americans (17-13-1-1) at Copps Coliseum. The ‘Dogs have lost the first three meetings of the season against the Amerks.

These two teams last met on Friday, December 23, when Rochester scored two unanswered third period goals to defeat Hamilton by a score of 3-2. Marc-Antoine Pouliot and Michael Lambert scored for the Bulldogs, while Jeff Jillson, Chris Thorburn, and Scott Sheppard had goals for Rochester. Danny Syvret assisted on both of Hamilton's goals.

The Bulldogs remain in seventh place in the North Division with 26 points and trail the Cleveland Barons (14-21-1-1) by four points for sixth position. The Americans sit fourth in the North, three points behind the Syracuse Crunch (18-11-2-1) and two ahead of the Toronto Marlies (17-15-0-0).

BULLDOGS NOTES - RW Andrei Kostitsyn scored his team-leading second shorthanded goal of the season on Tuesday, December 27 against the Syracuse Crunch (4-2 L).

- D Dan Smith recorded his first multipoint game of the season against the Crunch, posting two assists.

- RW Jonathan Ferland has recorded four points (2g-2a) in his last three games.

- The Bulldogs are 2-0-0-0 when playing on Thursdays this season.

ALUMNI NOTES - RW Pierre Dagenais scored the game-winning goal in the Montreal Canadiens 4-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Wednesday, December 28.

- LW Jason Chimera scored Columbus' only goal last night, the game winner, as the Blue Jackets defeated the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim 1-0.
