Brust Named Reebok Hockey Saver of the Week...York Activated

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that goaltender Barry Brust has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week for the second time this season. Royals defenseman Matt York has been activated off the seven-day injured list and is expected in the line-up tonight versus Peoria.

For the second time in two weeks, rookie netminder Barry Brust has been named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week from March 28 through April 3. The Swan River, Manitoba native posted a 3-0-0 record with a 1.66 goals against average and .945 save percentage. Brust stopped 86 of 91 shots in victories over Dayton on Friday, Saturday against Atlantic City and Sunday versus Peoria. With the victories, he has lowered his goals against average to 1.99 (3rd in the ECHL) and raised his save percentage to .928. On January 7 Brust started a home unbeaten streak which has spanned nearly two months and 14 games (12-0-2). During that streak, his goals against average is a stellar 1.16 and his save percentage is nearly .960. The 2002 draft choice of the Minnesota Wild set a new Royals record for single season wins by a Reading goaltender (25-April 2 vs. Atlantic City). Currently, Brust is 26-9-4 with a 1.99 goals against average and .928 save percentage. He has posted four shutouts, which is also a club record. Brust was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Saver of the Week from March 14 – 20 when he compiled a record of 2-0-1 a .950 goals against average and .973 save percentage.

Matt York has been activated off the seven-day injured reserve. York has appeared in two games with Reading scored no points with two penalty minutes. The Woodhaven, Michigan native finished a four-year collegiate career at Ferris State University. In 132 games, he posted 16 goals, 62 assists for 78 points and a Bulldog all-time record 432 penalty minutes. The 6-foot, 185-pound defenseman was signed on March 24 by Reading.

The final regular season home game in the Sovereign Center versus Toledo is Thursday, April 7. It's Ryan Flinn Bobblehead night to the first 2,000 fans, 12-and-under. The ex-Royals tough guy will be in attendance as well signing autographs on the concourse! The first 3,000 adults into the Sovereign Center receive a one-year subscription to the Sporting News as well.
