Adam Hauser Named MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus Of The Month

Former Jackson Bandits and Reading Royals and current Manchester Monarchs goaltender Adam Hauser is the MeiGray Group ECHL Alumnus of the Month for March.

In seven games with the Monarchs of the American Hockey League in March, Hauser was 4-2-1 with a 1.92 goals-against average and a save percentage of .937. In 28 games with Manchester this season, Hauser is 17-10-0 with a 1.98 goals-against average and a save percentage of .932.

Signed to a contract by the Los Angeles Kings in July 2004, Hauser is in his second season with Manchester. In 2003-04, Hauser was 20-15-7 with a team record 1.94 goals-against average and a team record seven shutouts. In four postseason games, Hauser was 2-2 with two shutouts, a goals against average of 1.89 and a save percentage of .913. He began 2003-04 with Reading, going 3-0-1 with a shutout, a goals against average of 1.71 and a save percentage of .930 in four games with Reading. Hauser was named ECHL Goalie of the Week after opening the season 2-0-0 with a shutout, a goals against average of 0.50 and a save percentage of .979.

Drafted in the third round (81st overall) by Edmonton in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft, Hauser began his professional career with Jackson in the ECHL after completing a four-year career at the University of Minnesota. In his first professional season in 2002-03, Hauser went 20-9-4 and finished tied for the ECHL lead with five shutouts. He ranked third in the league with a goals against average of 2.46 and sixth in the league with a save percentage of .916. He was twice named ECHL Goalie of the Week and was selected to the Southern Conference roster for the 2003 ECHL All-Star Game.

A four-year standout at the University of Minnesota, Hauser helped the Golden Gophers win the 2002 NCAA Championship and was named to the Frozen Four All-Tournament Team. At the time of his graduation, Hauser held the career records for wins, saves, shutouts and games.
