Titans Hold Off Bombers 2-1

DAYTON, OH (April 5, 2005) - Looking for a berth in the Kelly Cup Playoffs, the Trenton Titans helped themselves in a with a 2-1 over the Dayton Bombers in front of 2,379 at the Nutter Center.

The Titans await the result of the Reading Royals/Peoria Rivermen contest tonight. With a regulation win by the Royals, the Titans will return to the postseason for the fifth time in six seasons.

After a scoreless first period, Rick Kowalsky drew first blood at 2:48 when he put Les Haggett's centering pass top shelf past Dayton goaltender Mike Ayers for his 20th of the season.

The Bombers were able to tie the score 1-1 at 7:42 of the second as Tyler Sloan notched his 6th of the season.

With Aaron Foster in the penalty box for holding, Tim Judy got the eventual game-winner as he lifted the rebound from Matt Libby's point shot over Ayers at 9:26 of the third period.

Andrew Allen stopped 23 of 24 shots to raise his record to 27-11-2. The Titans were 1-for-2 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill.
