Rookie Goaltender Beckford-Tseu Reassigned from Worcester

Peoria, Ill. (April 5, 2005) – Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that rookie goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been reassigned from the team's American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Worcester IceCats.

Beckford-Tseu – a 6-foot-3, 220-pound native of Toronto, Ontario – has posted a 7-8-2 record in 17 games with Peoria this season with a .913 save percentage and a 2.57 goals against average (GAA). The fifth round selection (159th overall) of the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft registered his first professional shutout on December 5, 2004 with 25 saves in a 1-0 home win over the Wheeling Nailers and posted a four-game winning streak from December 4-11, 2004. In one game with Worcester this year, he stopped seven shots in 29 minutes of action.

The Peoria Rivermen, a proud affiliate of the NHL's St. Louis Blues, are a member of the ECHL – The Premier "AA" Hockey League. On Saturday, April 9, the Rivermen host the Dayton Bombers in their final regular season game in the ECHL. It's Ralph Rashid/UFS Savings Center/Ashley Furniture Fan Appreciation Night.
