Brockmeyer joins Iowa from Boise

Tacoma, WA - The Iowa Cubs have placed RHP Barret Loux on the disabled list while C Cael Brockmeyer joins the I-Cubs today from the short-season Boise Hawks.

Loux is on the D.L. as of August 3 with a right shoulder strain. This is Loux' third trip to the injured list this season, but his first with an arm issue. His two earlier stints were due to a sprained ankle. Loux is 4-6 with a 4.84 ERA (43ER/80.0IP) in 19 games (16 starts) with Iowa this season. Loux was scheduled to start today in Tacoma, but RH Yoanner Negrin will get the start in his place.

The Cubs drafted Brockmeyer in the 16th round of this June's draft out of Cal State University at Bakersfield. He is batting .309 (25-for-81) with four doubles, a triple, 12 RBI, and 17 runs scored in 26 games with Boise this season. He is in the lineup to start behind the plate in today's series finale against the Rainiers.
