BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (Nov. 1, 2011) - Animal lovers hear it all the time: No dogs allowed. On Sunday, November 20 at 3 p.m., dogs are not only allowed, but encouraged to visit Webster Bank Arena for a Bridgeport Sound Tiger hockey game versus the Adirondack Phantoms. Participants can bring their leashed dog to their seat for an exciting afternoon of hockey. Raffles, giveaways and a pet adoption booth will be on the concourse.

A portion of each discounted $20 ticket benefits Stratford Animal Rescue Society, a nonprofit volunteer organization. The money will be used to provide food and medical care for animals impounded at the Stratford Animal Control Facility.

"We are happy to partner with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers," said Beth Herde, a Stratford Animal Rescue Society volunteer. "The money raised will go directly to help the animals at Stratford Animal Control Facility."

Stratford Animal Rescue Society is holding an open house at the new Animal Control Facility at 225 Beacon Point Road in Stratford on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be pet adoptions, music, food, a bake sale, free nail clipping, vendors, a low-cost microchip clinic, raffles and more. Sound Tiger mascot Storm will visit.

Discounted tickets are on sale through Nov. 14. Regular price, plus a $5 donation to Stratford Animal Rescue Society, applies afterward. For discounted tickets, please call Kim Savino at 203-345-4828 or email her at kim.savino@harboryardse.com
