Try Hockey for Free Day this Saturday

Oklahoma City - The Oklahoma City Barons say that if you have ever wanted to play hockey, November 5 could be the day that changes everything for you.

The Barons, in conjunction with Arctic Edge in Edmond and the Blazers Ice Centre in south Oklahoma City invite everyone to Try Hockey for Free.

Try Hockey for Free Day is a nationwide effort to introduce youth to the sport of Ice Hockey. At this day, children ages 5 - 12 can try on all the gear, hit the ice and try the sport of ice hockey for free.

The Try Hockey for Free event will take place November 5 at Arctic Edge in Edmond from 9 - 10 a.m. and at Blazers Ice Centre from 2 - 3 p.m. Members of the Barons Ice Girls will be on hand. Fans who participate are eligible for a special discount on a ticket to the Barons game November 11.

The Barons take to the road for two games this week November 3 and 5 against the Abbotsford Heat, the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames. Faceoff for both games is 9 p.m. (ct). The game Thursday can be heard on 96.1 KXY. The game Saturday will be heard on 96.1 KXY or AM 1340 The Game pending kickoff time of the OSU Football game against Kansas State.
