Coyotes Recall Kyle Chipchura from Portland

GLENDALE, ARIZONA --- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today the Coyotes have recalled forward Kyle Chipchura from the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

The 6-foot-2, 203 pound Chipchura has recorded 4-2-6 and four penalty minutes (PIM) in eight games with Portland. He currently leads the Pirates in power play goals (3).

The Westlock, Alberta native was signed as an unrestricted free agent on July 19. He appeared in the season opening game at San Jose on Oct. 8, skating in 10:39 of ice time.

Chipchura was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the first round (18th overall) in the 2004 Entry Draft.
