Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned defenseman Paul Bissonnette from the Wheeling Nailers to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (AHL), and re-assigned forward Joe Jensen from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Nailers, it was announced on Tuesday.
In addition, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has recalled forward Kyle Rank from Wheeling.
Bissonnette, 22, ranks third on the Nailers and is tied for second among ECHL defensemen with 17 points (3+14) in 22 games this season. Originally drafted by Pittsburgh in the fourth round (121st overall) of the 2003 Entry Draft, Bissonnette has appeared in 101 games with the Nailers over parts of three seasons, recording 69 points (16+53).
The 6-3, 220 pound native of Welland, ON, has also appeared in 58 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in that time, recording six points (1+5) and 66 penalty minutes.
Rank, 24, has recorded 12 points (5+7) in 22 games with the Nailers this season. He made his professional debut with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers last season, appearing in 10 games and recording four points (2+2).
The 6-1, 190 pound wing from Elmira, ON, spent four seasons at St. Lawrence University, posting 99 points (39+60) in 151 games.
Jensen, 24, has appeared in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, recording two points (1+1) and 23 penalty minutes.
The Penguins hit the road for three games this weekend, taking on the Worcester Sharks, Albany River Rats and Philadelphia Phantoms, before returning home to host the Manchester Monarchs on Friday, December 21.
