The Falcons fell behind 2-0 early in the opening frame as Binghamton received goals from Cody Bass and Greg Mauldin within the first eight minutes of the first period. Springfield cut their deficit to 2-1 when T.J. Kemp danced through the offensive zone and slid a rebound past Senators goaltender Jeff Glass at 15:27 of the first period. Less than a minute later, Ben Simon redirected Theo Peckham's slap shot past Glass tying the score at 2-2 at 16:11 of the opening period.
"We were able to battle back and anytime you get a win, you feel good," said Falcons head coach Kelly Buchberger. "We had a breakdown on the first goal against and an unlucky bounce on the second against, but we kept playing and we able to answer back before the period ended."
In the second period, Springfield took their first lead of the game when Rob Schremp scored his first goal of the night at 2:07 of the middle frame putting the Falcons on top 3-2. Springfield expanded their advantage to 4-2 when Liam Reddox tallied his seventh marker of the year at 5:12 of the second period, followed by Schremp's second goal of the game at 8:01 of the middle frame giving the Falcons a 5-2 lead. Binghamton's John Hennessy cut his team's deficit to 5-3 with a late goal in the second period, but the Falcons played some tight defense and protected their two-goal victory.
"We are playing some pretty good hockey right now," said Schremp, who leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points. "We just have to keep it going, we put some pucks on net tonight and we were able to score some goals, overall it was a good team win."
GAME NOTES

Reynolds and Yablonski went for a rematch in the second period as well, while Springfield's Ryan Flinn and Binghamton's Matt Carkner also dropped the gloves in the middle period.
