Manzato Returned To ECHL

Albany River Rats News Release


ALBANY, NY - The Albany River Rats announced today that goaltender Daniel Manzato has been reassigned by the Carolina Hurricanes to the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL.

Manzato, 23, attended both training camps in Carolina and in Albany, but was injured in the first session of the River Rats camp. After being reassigned to the ECHL, Manzato was called up to the River Rats on November 24th. He made his AHL debut starting for Albany on December 2nd in Providence, making 38 saves in a 5-3 loss to the Bruins at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Fribourg, Switzerland native was drafted by the Hurricanes in the Fifth Round (160th Overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.

The River Rats have four games on their schedule for this week, beginning on Wednesday, December 12 at Bridgeport. Friday, December 14th Albany will play in Lowell for a 7:05 pm face off. Saturday the River Rats host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 5:00 pm at the Glens Falls Civic Center. Sunday Albany is back in Bridgeport for a 4:00 pm game at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
