PEORIA, IL - The Hamilton Bulldogs were blanked 5-0 by the Peoria Rivermen on Tuesday night at Carver Arena. The loss drops the Bulldogs record to 8-11-0-3 on the season.
Peoria jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. Mike Glumac opened the scoring with his fifth goal of the season at the 6:01 mark, followed by Nikolay Lemtyugov's fifth tally of the campaign at 15:41 of the frame.
Micki Dupont then posted his third goal of the season at 4:53 of the middle stanza to give the Rivermen a 3-0 lead. Nicholas Drazenovic and Glumac earned assists on the goal.
With two more second-period goals courtesy of Charles Linglet, the Rivermen opened up a five-goal lead. Linglet tallied his seventh and eight goals of the season at 6:27 and 11:06 of the frame respectively to make the score 5-0. Martin Kariya earned the lone assist on each of Linglet's goals and finished the game with three helpers.
There was no scoring in the third period.
In his 150th career AHL appearance, netminder Yann Danis suffered the loss with 11 saves on 16 shots before giving way to Cedrick Desjardins, who stopped all 13 of the shots he faced for the Bulldogs. Chris Beckford-Tseu was perfect for the Rivermen, stopping 25 shots and earning the shutout win.
Hamilton went 0-for-6 on the power play, while Peoria was also 0-for-6 with the man advantage.
The defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs return to action tomorrow night (Wednesday, December 12th) at 7:00 p.m. when they travel to Grand Rapids to take on the Griffins at Van Andel Arena.
