Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the first of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field. (7:05 p.m.). Buffalo is looking for a bounce back series after being swept in three games against the Red Wings. Following this weekend's series the Bisons will head to Lehigh Valley to take on the IronPigs for a three-game series starting Monday.

Playoff Picture

Having dropped three straight games, the Bisons are now 6.5 games back of the RailRiders for first place in the IL North. Buffalo is 7.0 games back of Columbus for the lone IL Wild Card spot. They currently trail three other teams in addition to the Clippers.

vs. the Chiefs

The Bisons are 11-5 against the Chiefs this season. It marks the third time in the last 10 years that Buffalo has recorded at least 11 wins against Syracuse. The Bisons currently trail Rochester by 1.5 games for first place in the 2015 Thruway Cup and can gain ground with a victory tonight. Buffalo and Syracuse will play just two more games against each other following this series.

Scott Copeland

RHP SCOTT COPELAND will make his 17th start of the season tonight. The righty is looking for a bounce back start as he lasted just 3.2 innings last Friday in Buffalo's 8-2 loss against Syracuse. Copeland gave up eight runs on 10 hits, both season highs. The righty has gone at least 5.0 innings in all but one of his 16 starts this season.

Awesome Augusts

INF ANDY BURNS and OF ALEX HASSAN are both having fantastic Augusts. Burns is batting .345 (20-58) with three doubles and a home run. Hassan is batting .358 (19-53) and has collected five doubles and a triple. The two have combined to score 13 runs and knock in 18 RBI. Burns' .293 season batting-average is currently 9th in the IL.

Bisons Bits

Buffalo's final 18 games will be against IL North opponents. They currently hold a winning record against each team they will face...RHP BEN ROWEN extended his scoreless streak to eight straight games after coming in to get the final two outs in the 6th inning on Wednesday...Yesterday the Blue Jays traded Bisons' LHP RANDY WOLF to Detroit. Wolf is expected to start for the Tigers on Saturday.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (66-55) will open up a three-game series tonight against the Angels. Toronto is currently 1.5 games back of the Yankees for first place in the AL East. Lefty David Price will be looking to stay undefeated in a Blue Jays' uniform as he takes on Hector Santiago at Angel Stadium (10:10 p.m.)
