Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

After rain postponed* a "rubber match" in Scranton-WB last night, the IronPigs (55-70) now play Game 1 of a three-game series against the sixth-place Pawtucket Red Sox (48-78) at McCoy Stadium... With a 2-1 loss to the RailRiders on Wednesday, the Pigs have started 1-1 on this rain-shortened, five-game, North Division road trip. The Pigs have dropped seven of their last nine contests overall and 10 of their last 12 affairs against the North Division. Still, over a longer stretch, the Pigs are 33-28 since reaching their low-water mark on June 13 (22-42)... The Red Sox -- Boston's top affiliate -- was off yesterday after dropping a three-game home set to Syracuse, 2-1. The Paw Sox, who just took the last series against the Pigs (3-1) from August 14-16, have dropped 14 of their last 18 contests and are 10-39 since June 29. Take the Pigs out of the equation and they've lost 13 of their last 14 affairs.

LHP Jesse Biddle (2-3, 5.91) will start for LHV against Boston's rehabbing RHP Rick Porcello (NR | 5-11, 5.81 w/ BOS).

First Pitch is at 7:05 p.m.

*As a result of the postponement last night, the Pigs will now play a doubleheader at PNC Field on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 5:35 p.m.
