Today's Game

Tonight, the Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the final game of a five-game homestand at Coca-Cola Field (6:05 p.m.). The Herd defeated the Chiefs last night and will look for the two-game sweep tonight. Buffalo will hit the road after tonight's game for seven games in six days against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and Rochester.

The Bisons are 3-1 against the Chiefs. The Thruway Cup rivals will meet 16 more times this year, starting with a four-game set at Coca-Cola Field, July 20-23. With Thursday's win, Buffalo (5-3) moved into a tie with Rochester (7-5) for 1st place in the 2015 Thruway Cup standings

Andrew Albers

LHP ANDREW ALBERS will make his 12th start of the season for the Herd tonight. The lefty has not started a game since June 7 against Louisville, posting a 2.45 ERA in 7.1 innings over four relief outings. Albers is 2-2 with a 4.62 ERA in his six games at Coca-Cola Field.

IL All-Star INF MATT HAGUE's .340 average is 20 points better than any other hitter in the IL. He continues to lead the way in hits (99) and on-base pct. (.422) and is 2nd in doubles (21) and 4th in slugging pct. (.460). Hague leads the Bisons with 29 multi-hit performances.

Mound Work

The Bisons' pitching staff owns a collective 2.93 ERA, the 2nd-best mark in the International League. Herd hurlers have allowed a league-low 31 home runs. Opponents have scored on the Bisons in just 10 of the last 67 innings over the past seven games.

Roster Move

The Blue Jays have selected the contract of LHP FELIX DOUBRONT and recalled RHP RYAN TEPERA from the Bisons. Doubront was 1-3 with a 2.44 ERA in nine starts for the Herd. RHP MATT BOYD was optioned by Toronto back to the Bisons.

Bisons Bits

RHP CHAD JENKINS has allowed just one run in his last 12 outings (two starts) and 24.0 innings of work since May 25 (0.41 ERA)...Along with Hague, RHP GREGORY INFANTE was named an International League All-Star on Thursday. The Bisons are 7-13 in their 20 previous Independence Eve Celebrations...A total of 367,162 have taken in this event since its inception in 1995.

Blue Jays Update

The Blue Jays (42-39) lost to Boston on Thursday night, 12-6. Russell Martin and Danny Valencia hit back-to-back home runs in the loss. Toronto opens up a 10-game roadtrip tonight with the first of three in Detroit (7:08 p.m.).
