Today's Game

Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Syracuse Chiefs in the first game of a three-game series at NBT Bank Stadium (7:05 p.m.). The Herd is coming off a 3-1 series defeat in Lehigh Valley to begin the roadtrip. After their series with the Chiefs, Buffalo will head back home for a three-game rematch with Lehigh Valley.

vs. Chiefs

Tonight's contest is the first this year between the Bisons and the Chiefs. Buffalo faces Syracuse 21 times over the final 77 games of the regular season, or 27% of their remaining schedule. The Herd was 7-9 against the Chiefs last season. Both teams are chasing Rochester in the Thruway Cup standings with the Bisons one game back of the Red Wings.

Matt Boyd

Tonight, LHP MATT BOYD will make his second Triple-A start of the season. Last Sunday against Charlotte, Boyd pitched seven strong innings of two-run ball. The lefty scattered six hits while striking out eight in a hard-luck 2-1 loss to the Knights. Boyd was 6-1 with an Eastern League-best 1.10 ERA before his promotion last week.

Matt Hague

INF MATT HAGUE continues to be the International League's best hitter. His .353 batting average is 24 points higher than any other batter in the league. Hague also has 10 more hits (87) than the next closest batter. The slugger leads the IL in doubles (19), RBI (41) and on-base pct. (.433). Hague has 27 multi-hit performances in 67 games.

Devon Travis

Blue Jays INF DEVON TRAVIS went 1-5 in the continuation of his MLB injury rehab assignment. Travis has not played with Toronto since May 16 with a left shoulder injury. He began his rehab with the Herd on May 29 and played one game (0-4).

Roster Moves

INF RYAN SCHIMPF has been promoted from Double-A New Hampshire. He hit .190 with two home runs in 17 games with the Bisons in May. INF MUNENORI KAWASAKI was recalled today by Toronto and will join them tonight. The infielder was batting .220 with two RBI and four stolen bases in 30 games with the Herd.

Blue Jays Update

The red-hot Blue Jays (36-32) routed the Mets again last night, 7-1, thanks to a five-run fourth inning. Former Bisons, Chris Colabello hits a solo shot, while R.A. Dickey notched his third win of the season, tossing 7.1 innings of one-run baseball. Toronto opens up a three-game series at home against the Baltimore Orioles tonight (7:07 p.m.).
