
Berkhoel, Gladiators blank Fresno, 5-0

Adam Berkhoel made 28 saves to record his second shutout of the season while Libor Ustrnul recorded 3 assists in a 5-0 win over the Fresno Falcons on Tuesday night at the SaveMart Center in Fresno, Californa.
Gwinnett took a 1-0 lead on Brad Schell's 11th goal of the season. Adam Smyth muscled down the right wing wall and flipped the puck into the slot to a wide open Schell in front of the net who buried the puck past Fresno goalie Jaime Hodson for the goal. Adam Berkhoel also tallied an assist on the goal at 11:25 of the first period.
Andrew Oke extended the Gladiators lead to 2-0 late in the first period jamming the puck over the leg of Hodson for the tally. Joe Bourne fed Oke at the left wing point were the defenseman walked down the wall untouched before flipping the puck past Hodson for the goal with 52 seconds left in the first period.
The Gladiators took a 3-0 lead in the second period on Mike Vigilante's 26th goal of the season finding a rebound in the slot and putting the puck behind Hodson for the goal at 14:38 of the period. Libor Ustrnul took the initial shot from the point off a faceoff win by Kevin Doell to pick up the assists on the goal.
Jeff Campbell extended the Gladiators lead to 4-0 with a goal 1:25 into the third period as he flipped the puck over an outstretched Hodson for the tally. Doell and Ustrnul each added their second assists of the game on the goal.
Kris Goodjohn rounded out the scoring for the Gladiators at the 8:26 mark of the third period ripping a slapshot from the left wing circle past a diving Hodson. Picking up the rebound off of Ustrnul's shot from the point, Goodjohn recorded his career tying 19th goal of the season. Randy Dagenais also picked up an assist on the goal.
Adam Berkhoel made 28 saves in the win helping the Gladiators improve to 33-21-8 on the season and into 5th place in the American Conference. Gwinnett out shot the Falcons in the win, 45-28 while both teams went 0-for-4 on the power play.
