Bakersfield Condors News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - Sebastien Centomo stopped 43 shots and the Long Beach Ice Dogs fought back from three deficits for a 4-3 win over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 4,406 fans at the Rabobank Arena on Tuesday night.

Mathieu Brunelle got things started just 41 seconds into the contest with his 23rd goal of the season, cutting around the Long Beach defense, across the top of the crease and then twisting around to fire it past Sebastien Centomo for the 1-0 lead. A late power play goal with just 14.5 seconds left in the opening stanza tied the game at one. The Condors led in shots 24-9.

Connor James potted his third goal in the last two games 14 minutes into the second stanza, completing a nice passing play by his linemates. Just 1:21 later the Ice Dogs again tied the game, only to be outdone by Brunelle's second of the night at 16:21. He redirected the puck past the goalie on the short side for the 3-2 advantage.

For the third time in the game the Ice Dogs tied the score. Rosa's second of the game at 6:32 made it 3-3 and the rookie now has 29 goals. Long Beach continued to pressure and finally the Condors broke. Chris Kenady blasted home a one-timer with just 3:05 remaining in the contest to lift the Ice Dogs to the victory. The win moves Long Beach within a point of the Condors for second place and leaves Bakersfield four points out of first.

The Condors 27-hour Hockey-Thon, which includes two games against the Gwinnett Gladiators, takes place next weekend on Friday and Saturday. Log on to www.bakersfieldcondors.com for more information.
