D-Man and All Star Return From Manchester…Reading Signs Harrison

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, affiliate of the NHL's Los Angeles Kings and AHL's Manchester Monarchs, have announced that defenseman Beau Geisler and forward Jeff Miles have been assigned by the Manchester Monarchs. In addition, Reading has signed defenseman Tom Harrison and released defenseman Jim Dube.

Geisler returns to Reading after a nine-game stint in the American Hockey League with the Royals primary affiliate the Manchester Monarchs. The Coleraine, Minnesota native scored one goal and two points with two penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. Geisler's lone goal on March 6 against the Providence Bruins was a game winner. The rookie defenseman has played in 45 games with Reading scoring four goals and 17 points with 22 penalty minutes and a plus-10 rating. A goal and nine of his points have come on the power play.

Jeff Miles returns to Reading after a two-month promotion to Manchester. Miles skated in 20 games with the Monarchs and collected four goals and five points, while racking up 4 penalty minutes and a plus-3 rating. The University of Vermont graduate exited Reading on January 18 as the team's leading scorer. In 34 games played, Miles scored 17 goals, 16 assists for 33 points and accumulated six penalty minutes. Miles' plus-16 rating is still among the top five in the ECHL for rookies. The 2001 Chicago Blackhawks draft choice was named the Reebok Hockey ECHL Plus Performer of the Month (November) and selected to the National Conference's ECHL All Star squad. Miles' ten multiple-point games rank third on the Royals club.

Tough forward/defenseman Tom Harrison has signed a contract with Reading and has been placed on the 7-day injured reserve. Harrison recently finished a four-year stint in the Ontario Hockey League with Kitchener and Saginaw. In 66 games this season with the Saginaw Spirit, he finished with four goals and ten points with 310 penalty minutes. In his four-year OHL career, the Thunder Bay, Ontario native appeared in 222 games and scored six goals, 27 assists for 33 points and racked up 726 penalty minutes.

Dube appeared in just three games with Reading in mid-January scoring no points and recorded a plus-1 plus/minus rating. The Ferris State University graduate also appeared in two games with the Bakersfield Condors this season registering no points and a plus-1 rating.

Reading meets Dayton tomorrow night for the final time this season in the Sovereign Center in Reading. The Bombers and Royals meet for the final time this season in Dayton on April 1. The Royals battle the Johnstown Chiefs on Friday night to close out the seven-game regular season series. Commonwealth Orthopaedics is handing out Labatt Blue/ Royals window stickers to the first 1,500 fans. The Keystone Cup trophy will be presented to the Royals prior to the opening faceoff for winning the battle of Pennsylvania this season. The puck drops on both nights at 7:05 p.m.
