SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake Bees snapped a five-game losing streak with a twin-bill split against the Las Vegas 51s Saturday night at Smith's Ballpark. In game one, the Bees trailed 3-1 heading into the fourth, but a three-run inning highlighted by a RBI double from Gary Brown put the Bees in front for good. A sacrifice fly from Efren Navarro added an insurance run in the sixth and solidified the final 5-3 score. Jeremy McBryde (5-6) was granted the win as Vinnie Pestano took his fourth save of the season.

Las Vegas opened the scoring in game two and jumped out to a 4-0 lead after plating a run in each of the first two innings and two in the third. The Bees put their first strike on the board in the third when Kaleb Cowart flied out to right with the bases loaded to score Grant Green from third base. This would prove to be their only run of the game as the 51s went on to win game two, 4-1. Kyle Kubitza and Ryan Jackson each knocked three hits on the day to head the Bees offensive effort.

The Bees wrap up the homestand tomorrow with one final game against the 51s at 1:05pm at Smith's Ballpark. For more information or for tickets visit www.slbees.com This story was not subject to the approval of the National Association of Professional Baseball Leagues or its clubs.
