Today's Game: Oklahoma City wraps up its series against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at 6:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers have lost five straight games, and a loss tonight would mark their longest losing streak of the season. The Dodgers are 4-5 during their current 10-game homestand. Today is a Chapparal Energy Family Sunday.
Yesterday's Game: Three late runs gave Colorado Springs a 3-2 come-from-behind win Saturday against the Dodgers in Bricktown. The Dodgers took a 2-0 lead into the eighth inning as starting pitcher Brandon Beachy held the Sky Sox scoreless and to one hit through seven innings. Colorado Springs scored one run in the eighth inning, then added two more runs in the top of the ninth. With one out in the eighth inning, Kyle Wren hit a RBI single to end the shutout and cut Oklahoma City's lead to 2-1. Juan Gonzalez (1-1) entered the game to pitch for OKC in the top of the ninth having not been scored upon in 17 consecutive outings. Pete Orr hit a one-out double and Nevin Ashley followed with a triple to bring home Orr and knot the game, 2-2. Matt Dominguez then hit a sacrifice fly to score Ashley and put Colorado Springs in front, 3-2. Jaye Chapman kept the Dodgers scoreless in the ninth to earn his 10th save. Oklahoma City scored first Saturday, taking a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth. Austin Barnes hit a one-out triple, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Kyle Jensen. The Dodgers scored again in similar fashion in the bottom of the sixth. Jose Peraza led off with a triple, then scored on a sacrifice fly by Corey Seager for a 2-0 lead. Colorado Springs reliever Tim Dillard (3-2) got the win.
Today's Probable Pitcher: Eric Surkamp (5-3) tries for a second straight win as he makes his 11th start of the season for OKC...He most recently started Aug. 2 against New Orleans in the first game of a doubleheader, allowing two runs (one earned) and seven hits over 5.0 innings. He issued one walk and struck out three in his fifth win of the season...Surkamp has won four of his last five decisions. Between June 8-July 23, he was 4-0 with a 2.93 ERA over seven outings, including five quality starts...Surkamp was acquired in a trade with the White Sox in late May. Although he has spent most of his time with OKC, he made his L.A. Dodgers debut against Philadelphia on July 6. Working out of the bullpen, he threw 3.1 innings and allowed four runs and four hits, including two homers, in a no decision...Today marks third start of the season against Colorado Springs (1-0, 2.45 ERA). He has allowed a combined five runs (three earned) and 15 hits over 11.0 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts.

The Sky Sox have won the last five meetings and last night gave the Sky Sox four straight wins in OKC for the first time since sweeping a four-game set, Aug. 18-21, 2009...Four of Colorado Springs' eight wins have come when trailing after seven innings. OKC has not lost a game when leading after seven innings against any other team in the PCL this season...OKC won the most recent set, 3-2, in Colorado Springs July 8-12...Andy Wilkins is hitting .373 in 15 games against the Sky Sox this season, with a team-leading 19 hits and 11 runs scored. He also has three home runs, five doubles and nine RBI in the season series...This is just the second time the Sky Sox have won eight games in one season against OKC, and tonight they'll look to win nine games for the first time ever.
Peaks and Valleys: Over the Dodgers' last 14 games, they have lost four straight, won five straight, and now lost five straight. After defeating Omaha on July 20, the Dodgers were 60-33 and 27 games above .500 for the first time ever in team history. Since then they've gone 7-14, and this is the third losing streak of at least four games during the 21-game stretch...Iowa defeated Omaha Saturday to move into second place in the American Northern Division, trailing first-place OKC by four games. Third-place Omaha sits 4.5 games back. The Dodgers' largest division lead was 11 games entering play on July 4, but they have gone 14-20 since...With a win Saturday, Fresno moved into a tie with the Dodgers for the most wins in the PCL this season (67)...The last time the Dodgers were less than 20 games above .500 was June 14 (40-21).
Hitting the Skids: The Dodgers' current five-game losing streak is tied for the team's longest of season. They also dropped five straight at home June 1-5 against Fresno and Sacramento. This is the first time since 2011 OKC has had a pair of five-game losing streaks at home. OKC has not lost as many as six straight games overall since a 10-game skid, Aug. 3-13, 2012, and they have not lost as many as six straight at home since a seven-game skid, July 26-Aug. 13, 2012...The Dodgers have not scored more than three runs in any of the five games (13 runs total) and are 8-for-49 (.163) with runners in scoring position. The pitching staff has posted a 5.40 ERA (27 ER/45.0 IP) and has allowed at least six runs four times.
Finish Them: Last night was the latest chapter in OKC's struggles to close out games against the Sky Sox this season. It was the third time this year they've lost when leading in the ninth inning and the fourth time they've lost when leading after seven innings. They are 5-4 against Colorado Springs when leading after seven innings, but 50-0 against everyone else.
Yes Way, Jose: Jose Peraza is off to a great start since joining the OKC Dodgers, hitting safely in all nine games while going 15-for-36 (.417) with five extra-base hits and four RBI. He's collected five multi-hit games with OKC and now has 40 multi-hit games over 105 contests between OKC and Gwinnett. His 130 combined hits are tied for third overall in Triple-A this season, and his 15 hits in August are tied for third-most in the PCL.
Austin's Powers: Since returning to the OKC Dodgers, Austin Barnes has hit safely in all five games, going 8-for-20 (.400) with three extra-base hits. He's on a six-game hitting streak dating back to July 18 (11x24).
Long Division: The Dodgers have lost eight straight games against divisional opponents, getting outscored 46-25. They are 4-13 in their last 17 games against foes from the American Northern Division, and have dropped nine of the last 10. Overall this season, OKC is 21-21 against the division, including 7-10 at home (lost seven straight).
Broom Breakers: This is the third time the Dodgers enter a series finale looking to avoid a sweep, including the second time in their past three series. They are 1-1 in such games...The only time OKC has ever been swept in a five-game series was Aug. 27-30, 2009 at Iowa.
