Bears wrap up trip with impressive 4-2 win at Albany
November 19, 2004 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY scored the first four goals of the game to march to a 4-2 victory at Albany Friday night. The game finished a five-game road trip as the BEARS now come home to face Bridgeport Saturday.
The BEARS got the scoring started midway through the first period when Jeff Ulmer scored his second goal of the season and the first short-handed goal of the season for HERSHEY as a team. The goal at 11:18 at the first period gave the BEARS a 1-0 lead. Carl Corazzini then scored his first goal in a HERSHEY uniform at the 18:18 mark of the first period to give the BEARS a 2-0 lead. Mathieu Darche rounded out the first period scoring with his team leading seventh goal of the season to send the BEARS to the dressing room for first intermission with a 3-0 lead.
The second period began with Dean Arsene scoring his first goal of the season with assists to Jeff Ulmer and Ryan Steeves. The goal gave HERSHEY a 4-0 lead, and was the first for Arsene in the AHL since December 18, 2002 when he played for the Hartford Wolf Pack. A late two-goal rally before intermission tightened up the game when Ray Schultz scored for Albany at the 14:19 mark and NHL veteran forward Dean McAmmond took a pass from behind the HERSHEY net and scored off the crossbar at 19:15 of the second. Despite the late flurry by Albany, the BEARS still held a 4-2 lead at second intermission.
The third period was scoreless, but eventful nonetheless. Peter Budaj stopped a penalty shot at the 1:41 mark of the period when Pascal Rheaume was hauled down by Brett Clark on a breakaway.
The BEARS begin a three-game homestand on Saturday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Face-off is set for 7:00 p.m. HERSHEY is also at home Sunday against the Albany River Rats and next Wednesday against the Springfield Falcons. Tickets are available for all three games by calling the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 544-3911.
