Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Friday unveiled a completely revamped web site, designed with a dynamic look and an emphasis on fan-friendly, interactive content.
While retaining such popular options as the Fan Board and E-Griffiti, the online version of the Griffins' official magazine, griffinshockey.com now offers a host of new features for fans and media, including:
* Photo Gallery - Action photos of each Griffins player; * Wallpapers - An assortment of player and team-oriented backgrounds for fans to download; * Sound Clips - Comments and interviews with Griffins personalities; * "Become a Hero!" - Fans can sponsor players' on-ice performances for charity; * Media Guide - The complete 2004-05 Griffins media guide, in PDF form; * Special Sponsor Offers - Money-saving discounts and coupons from the Griffins' corporate partners; * Event Info - Easier access to information about game-night promotions and community events; * Plus a screensaver and e-card, expanded player bios, and links to news about the Griffins and the AHL. Additional features such as special auctions will be added in the coming months.
Griffinshockey.com remains the preferred portal for Griffins fans to order tickets, access news and statistics, listen to audio webcasts, shop for team merchandise, and view live scores from around the AHL.
"In light of technological advances since our last redesign in 2001, we felt it necessary to create a new site more sharply focused on the needs and desires of our fans," said Bob Sack, senior vice president of sales and marketing for the Griffins. "With a refreshing new look and a vast assortment of multimedia and interactive options, we think griffinshockey.com is now among the premier web sites both in the AHL and in all of professional sports." Griffinshockey.com was designed by Infinity Pro Sports (IPS), whose mission is to provide technologically advanced web based software and services to the professional and collegiate sports industries. With corporate and national sales offices based in College Station, Texas, IPS boasts more than 100 clients throughout the sports world.
