BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the 2011 schedule. The Baysox open the 2011 season on the road with a seven-game road trip to Harrisburg and Richmond beginning Thursday, April 7. The team makes its 2011 home debut Thursday, April 14, at Prince George's Stadium against the Erie SeaWolves. The Baysox play 71 home games over 15 home stands, including an eight-game home stand against Altoona and Erie to close out the season.
Baysox fans can look forward to home games against all 11 Eastern League opponents. Bowie hosts Richmond four times for a total of 13 games, Erie three times for 11 games, Akron three times for 10 games, Altoona and Harrisburg twice for seven games each, New Britain twice for six games and Reading, Binghamton, Trenton, New Hampshire and Portland for one series apiece.
The team's most frequent travel destination is Richmond. The Baysox play four road series against the Flying Squirrels for 13 games, three series at Harrisburg for 11 games, three series at Erie for 10 games, two series at Altoona, Akron and New Britain for seven games each, and one series at Reading, Binghamton, Trenton, New Hampshire and Portland.
Baysox home games are scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. Monday through Friday nights, 6:35 p.m. Saturday nights, and 2:05 p.m. Sunday afternoons through Sunday, June 26. Sunday games from Sunday, July 17, through the end of the season are scheduled to begin at 6:05 p.m. There are several exceptions to the regularly scheduled times: the games on Thursday, May 5, and Wednesday, May 11, are scheduled to begin at 11:05 a.m., the game on Monday, July 4, begins at 6:05 p.m., the games on Wednesday, July 27, and Thursday, Aug. 4 begin at 11:05 a.m. and the game on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5, begins at 2:05 p.m.
