Chesapeake Baysox News Release

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox honor award-winning actress Betty White with Betty White Tribute Night Saturday, April 16, as the Baysox take on the Erie SeaWolves at 6:35 p.m. The tribute includes a look-alike contest, on-field promotions based on White's career, video clips and trivia. After the game, the Baysox light up the skies around Prince George's Stadium with a fireworks extravaganza.

The seven-time Emmy winning White has been known for many notable roles in her career and the Baysox will recognize several of them with special on-field promotions. Fans of all ages and genders are encouraged to dress like White for the evening. The fan who most closely resembles the star will be recognized on the dugout and wins a fabulous Baysox prize.

White appeared in 180 episodes of "The Golden Girls" as Rose Nylund. Nylund attended St. Olaf College in Minnesota, and a pair lucky fans can pay homage to the character with Rose Nyland's St. Olaf Race between innings. White also appeared in a popular Snickers commercial. One lucky fan will participate in the Snickers Football Challenge based on the commercial with the chance to win a sweet price pack from Snickers. Fans can also look forward to Florence Dusty's Muffin Eating Contest, inspired by White's appearance as host of "Saturday Night Live" in May, 2010.

Throughout the event, the team will show video clips from White's acting career on the video board. Tickets for the Betty White Tribute Night and all Baysox home games are available now on www.baysox.com

The Baysox open their 19th season as the class Double-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles on the road in Harrisburg Thursday, April 7. They play their first game at Prince George's Stadium Thursday, April 14, at 7:05 p.m. Parking is free at every Baysox home game and tickets are now available at www.baysox.com.
