Binghamton Rumble Ponies News Release
BINGHAMTON, NY - Local college students are entering the finals portion of the spring semester and to ease the burden of the looming exams, the Binghamton Mets have devised a three-day crash course in relaxation. During the team's next three-game home stand, May 9-11, college students will be granted a free reserved grandstand ticket by showing a valid student ID at the NYSEG Stadium ticket office.
The brief three-game series kicks off Monday at 6:35 PM with the B-Mets newly branded promotion Markdown Monday. This night commemorates the team's 20th anniversary season with drastically reduced concession prices to mirror pricing from the B-Mets inaugural season, 1992. For example, hot dogs are $1.00, draft beers are $3.00, sodas are $1.25 and French fries are just $1.75.
Tuesday brings with it one of the most popular promotions the team offers - Two-for-Tuesday. When gates open at 5:30 PM for the 6:35 PM game, select draft beers and fountain Cokes will be at recession-proof, 2-for-1 pricing to quench the thirst of college students and fans of all ages. In addition, the B-Mets will pay tribute to facial hair with Weird Beard Night! All fans sporting a beard are eligible for a free reserved grandstand ticket and will be automatically entered into a contest which will judge the best beard. The winner will take home a terrific B-Mets prize pack featuring free tickets to future games, autographed memorabilia and team-branded gear. The evening will be filled with laughs as the B-Mets promotion crew highlights bearded funnyman Zach Galifianakis on the massive NYSEG Stadium videoboard.
The study break wraps up with another 6:35 PM game Wednesday featuring the B-Mets season-long tribute to famous trios. This Wednesday will showcase the triumvirate of John Ritter, Suzanne Somers and Joyce DeWitt who made up TV's "Three's Company" from 1977-1984.
Gates open at 5:30 PM for all three games against the New Britain Rock Cats (Double-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins). For tickets and information regarding the study break promotion or any future B-Mets game, call (607) 723-METS (6387) or visit bmets.com.
