Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Senators returned home from their seven-game road trip on Friday night, scored early, but couldn't hold the lead in their 7-4 loss to Reading. The largest crowd of the year, 6,299, were thrilled when Bill Rhinehart put a charge into long home run in the first inning driving in three and giving the Senators a 3-0 lead.

Erik Davis started for the Senators and pitched the first 4.1 innings without allowing a hit before Reading broke through with a hit and two runs. Reading then capitalized on a Senators error, scoring five unearned runs in the fifth inning to take a 7-3 lead.

Harrisburg had a couple of chances late, but could only score a single run in the ninth inning. They did bring the tying run to the plate in the ninth. Chris Rahl singled in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Jonathan Tucker, Jesus Valdez and Tyler Moore all had two hits in the game.

The series continues on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. as the Senators (14-13) send RH Ryan Tatusko to the mound against LH Ryan Edell for the R-Phils (17-10). The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:50 p.m.
