Austin, TX March 20, 2014- The Toros' Flip Murray topped his season-high points scored and led all scorers with 40 points, but the Toros fell to the Los Angeles D-Fenders (113-126) Thursday evening at Cedar Park Center.
Four additional Toros scored in double- digits including Dexter Pittman (16), Courtney Fells (15), Greg Gantt (13), and Jonathan Simmons (11).
Six D-Fenders scored in double-digits including Brandon Costner who added a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds, James Southerland (26), C.J. Williams (26), Josh Magette (14), Shawne Williams (13), and Terrence Williams (10).
The D-Fenders outscored the Toros 40-31 in the first quarter and 64-47 at the half. Flip Murray scored 35 of his 40 points in the second half, going 7-12 from three-point range and 12-13 from the free-throw line helping the Toros outscore the D-Fenders 66-62 in the second half.
The Austin Toros (16-27) travel to Rio Grande Valley to play the Vipers on March 21. The Los Angeles D-Fenders (26-16) head home to take on the Santa Cruz Warriors on March 22.
