There will be numerous stations where fans will have the opportunity to test their vertical leap, agility and more alongside Precision Wellness staff and members of the Santa Cruz Warriors. The first 50 people who arrive will be entered to win prizes including a free three-month membership to Precision, sports performance testing packages, a signed Stephen Curry bobblehead, signed Golden State Warriors prints and a Santa Cruz Warriors fan pack. There will be door prizes for every young athlete who attends while supplies last.
"The Santa Cruz Warriors are lucky to have a state-of-the-art facility like Precision Wellness right in our backyard," said Kirk Lacob, general manager of the Santa Cruz Warriors and assistant general manager of the Golden State Warriors. "Their work rehabbing Joe Alexander, who was sidelined for roughly two years and is now playing consistent minutes, has been outstanding. In addition to Precision, we are also extremely fortunate to have two consummate professionals in Dr. Jacob Benford and Dr. Thomas Welle on our team medical staff."
Precision Wellness Center is the official rehabilitation and training facility of the Santa Cruz Warriors. Located at Cabrillo College in Aptos, Precision specializes in comprehensive fitness programs, rehabilitation and sports performance enhancement. Precision was co-founded by Dr. Chris Christensen, who is the team's physical therapist and has provided rehabilitation and sports performance services in Santa Cruz for 13 years.
The Santa Cruz Warriors have also benefited from the stellar care of local physicians Dr. Benford and Dr. Welle, who have assisted the team's training staff with all their medical needs. Dr. Benford has a clinic at Precision Wellness Center. He specializes in non-surgical sports medicine as well as the management of concussions and is a team physician for Cabrillo College. Dr. Welle has practiced for 15 years and is also a team physician for Cabrillo College, UC Santa Cruz and six local high schools in affiliation with Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF).
