Tulsa Defense Outlasts Legends
March 20, 2014 - NBA G League (G League)
Texas Legends News Release
TULSA, OK, (Mar. 20, 2014) - The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), maintained a steady control through most of the game before slipping behind Tulsa in the final minutes to drop their final regular season matchup with the 66ers 100-110.
The Legends shot 45% and had six players in double-digits, but were unable to contain the 66ers, allowing 35 points in the fourth quarter alone. The 66ers' defense that allowed 13 points from Damion James in the first, held the team to 19 as a whole in the final 12 minutes. The Legends finished each quarter clinching a tight lead, and maintained that lead for the first 5 minutes of the fourth. After an untimely foul, Dominic McGuire knocked down three straight from the foul line to put Tulsa in control and guide them to the finish line.
Ricky Ledo powered the Legends with 21 points, shooting 5-of-7 from the 3-point line and adding 12 rebounds, 3 assists, a block and a steal. James added another double-double for the Legends with 19 points and 10 boards, and Booker Woodfox came off the bench to add 17, shooting 64% on the night. McGuire and Thunder-assignee Reggie Williams added 20 points each to lead the 66ers.
The Legends will travel to Rio Grande Valley next to take on the Vipers on Saturday, March 29th. The game will be broadcast live on www.TexLegends.com.
