Augusta, Greenville visit Lakewood for eight games

LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The BlueClaws are back in Lakewood for eight games with Augusta and Greenville starting on Monday, July 7. It is the first and only time that Lakewood will host the GreenJackets (San Francisco Giants) and the Drive (Boston Red Sox) this season.

The homestand starts on Monday night at 7:05 at FirstEnergy Park, when the BlueClaws welcome Augusta for the first time since beating them to close out the 2006 South Atlantic League championship. It will be Military Appreciation Night, presented by Mortgage Now. The first 2,000 fans 17 and younger will receive a BlueClaws camo hat and every child through the gates will receive a voucher for a hot dog, chips and a soda as part of Kids Eat Free Monday, thanks to ShopRite.

Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. game, sponsored by Ocean Medical Center, will be Senior Day Tuesday. Every senior will receive a free hot dog, chips and a soda, thanks to Commerce Bank, and every fan will get a baseball bingo card for a chance to win great prizes. Companies from throughout the area will also be in attendance for the Senior Expo, presented by Harrogate.

The action continues on Wednesday at 11:05 a.m. with the first Camp Day of the season. The first 2,000 children at the game will get an oversized baseball card, courtesy of the Asbury Park Press.

The BlueClaws wrap up their series with Augusta on Thursday with an appearance by the ZOOperstars, thanks to Saint Barnabas Healthcare System. The hugely popular entertainers will be on hand for the 7:05 p.m. game. It will also be Thirsty Thursday, with drink and food specials all night long in the Coors Light WRAT Trap.

Lakewood opens their four-game set with the Greenville Drive at 7:05 p.m. on Friday. As with each Friday, there will be post-game fireworks thanks to Toyota and Scion World of Lakewood.

Saturday's 7:05 p.m. contest will be the BlueClaws annual Irish Heritage Night, presented by Five Guys Burgers and Fries of Brick. The event is always one of the most popular every season at FirstEnergy Park and special ticket packages are available.

The BlueClaws continue their series with the Drive on Sunday at 5:05 p.m with a giveaway presented by Alert Ambulance. Also, as with each Sunday, it will also be Kids Character Day, presented by Renewal by Anderson. A favorite cartoon character will be visiting FirstEnergy Park to entertain the young fans.

Lakewood will wrap up their homestand with a 7:05 p.m. game with Greenville on Monday, July 14. In addition to being another Kids Eat Free Day, the first 2,000 adults will receive claw oven mitts, thanks to Clayton Block.
