
Rome Defeats Greensboro

Rome, GA - The Rome Braves defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers 8-2 Monday night at State Mutual Stadium in front of 2,398 fans.
The Braves scored four runs in the third inning on RBI singles by Jason Heyward, Michael Fisher, Adam Coe, and a triple by Freddie Freeman. Rome added two more runs in the fourth on a throwing error by Alex Sanabia and an RBI single by Jason Heyward for the 6-0 score. The Braves final two runs came in the fifth inning on an RBI triple by Samuel Sime and a wild pitch by Chris Bodishbaugh sending Sime home for the eighth run of the night.
The Grasshoppers scored two runs in the eighth inning on an RBI base hit by Hunter Mense and a wild pitch scoring Daniel Garcia for the 8-2 Rome lead. The Rome bullpen shut down the Hoppers the rest of the way to secure the 8-2 victory.
Jeff Locke (4-7) gets the win for the Braves going seven shutout innings with six strikeouts only giving up three hits. Alex Sanabia (2-3) takes the loss for the Grasshoppers.
