AUGUSTA, GA. - The Augusta GreenJackets used a come-from-behind effort to beat the Lakewood BlueClaws 7-4 and take the first meeting between these two teams this season.

Lino Martinez had tossed 5.2 scoreless innings of one-hit baseball, and he held a 2-0 lead with two outs in the 6th inning. Four straight singles tied the ballgame 2-2. Augusta would go on to score two more runs in the 7th inning and three in the bottom of the 8th. Martinez finished the game with two runs allowed (both earned) on five hits in six innings while getting a no-decision.

In the top of the 8th inning with the GreenJackets leading 4-2, Lakewood responded with a one-out single by Gabriel Lino and an RBI triple by Miguel Alvarez to cut the lead in half. Tim Carver's chopper over the mound moved Alvarez across the plate to tie the ballgame 4-4, but three runs off Yari Sosa in the bottom of the 8th put the 'Jackets ahead once-and-for-all.

Lakewood sends Hoby Milner (4-2, 2.88)- who is riding a streak of 18.2 consecutive scoreless innings over his last three starts- to the mound against Augusta's Clayton Blackburn (6-3, 2.63) who ranks fourth in the South Atlantic League in ERA and is tops in strikeouts.

First pitch for Tuesday's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Listen to all the action on WOBM 1160-AM and WOBM 1310-AM beginning at 6:50 p.m. with the BlueClaws Beat pre-game show.
