Owen Sound Attack News Release

The Owen Sound Attack is pleased to announce that with their second round selection (41st overall) in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection presented by State Farm, they have selected 6'0, 165lb defenseman Chris Bigras of the Barrie Colts Minor Midget team.

Bigras (Big-riss), a teammate of Attack first round selection Zach Nastasiuk collected 7 goals to go along with 25 assists and 20 Penalty Minutes in 43 games played. Bigras is described by OHL Central Scouting as a "big bodied, two way defenseman who has shown offensive upside. His improvement from the start of the season to the end was significant and his competition level remains high at all times."

Bigras is a native of Elmvale, ON., the same hometown as current Attack Captain Garrett Wilson.

"We were very thrilled to be able to acquire a solid, two way defenseman like Chris with our second round pick.", stated Dale DeGray. "We believe him to have a tremendous upside and see him as an important piece to our back end moving forward."

The Attack will now make two picks in the third round.
