Ottawa 67's News Release

(Ottawa ON.): The Ottawa 67's today announced that 16 year old left wing David Perkiln, a native of Mississauga, ON, was their first pick (16th overall) in the 2011 OHL Priority Selection Draft. Perklin, a 6'2, 190 pound forward played last season for the Minor Midget Toronto Marlboros where he helped lead them to win the 2010-2011 OHL Cup Championship.

Coach Chris Byrne described Perklin as "big bodied power foward, and I'm looking forward to seeing him on the ice in training camp with our veterans at the end of August."

The 67's only have a few open spots on the roster heading into training camp and it's hoped Perklin will battle for one of them.
