LOVELAND, Colorado - The Allen Americans fell 3-2 to the Colorado Eagles at the Budweiser Events Center in the team's first road game since opening the Allen Event Center. Despite the close loss, the Americans still have a winning record at 6-3-1 (13 points).

The club got off to a great start with tenacious play in the offensive end that resulted in a goal from forward Bruce Graham with just under three minutes left in the first. Allen also put in a solid defensive effort, blocking nine shots in the first period.

Midway through the second, forward Bill Loupée notched another goal to put the Americans up 2-0 on a two-on-one with teammate Nino Musitelli. Colorado quickly responded with goals from Brett Lutes and Felipe Larranaga to tie the score at two heading into the second intermission.

The game-winning goal came at 9:02 of the third when Colorado's Ed McGrane slipped one through goaltender Chris Whitley's legs on a breakaway. Allen came close to tying it up in the last five minutes but couldn't find the back of the net.
