Rapid City Rush News Release

(Tulsa, OK) - On Friday night, the Rush took on the Tulsa Oilers in game two of their current three-game road trip. The Oilers used four third-period goals to remain perfect at home as they topped the Rush 5-2.

The opening period was an evenly contested period as both sides had a number of chances with the two combining for 20 shots. The Oilers got on the board first as Rick Kozak backhanded a pass, waist-high, to TJ Craig who batted the puck home.

The Rush came storming back in the second period to take the lead as Colt King and Brendan Cook found the back of the net. King sent in a rebound at the 9:25 mark of the second with Luke Erickson adding the assist. Erickson would then collect his second assist of the game when he set up Cook on a short 2-on-1 to give Rapid City their first lead of the game.

The third period started off with a bit of controversy as the Oilers had a goal waved-off, then a questionable goal ruled the game-tying marker. At 3:22 of the third, Troy Riddle collected the goal to make it 2-2, and just over a minute later, Tulsa regained the lead when Aaron Davis scored his third of the season. TJ Caig would then double the lead on a 5-on-3 powerplay, bringing Rapid City's penalty kill streak of 26 to an end. Troy Riddle would score on the empty net with just over 30 seconds left to bring the game to a 5-2 final.

Up next, the Rush continue their road swing as they take on the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Saturday, November 14th, the game is scheduled for 6:05pm Mountain Time.
