Tulsa Oilers News Release

You Again?: The Tulsa Oilers host the Mississippi RiverKings for the first time this season, however it is the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams.

Records: Oilers are 6-3-0 with 12 points in third place in the North Conference.

Mississippi is 7-6-0 for 14 points in first place in the North Conference.

Season Series: This is the fourth of 11 meetings between these two teams this season. The Oilers will play Mississippi more than any other opponent this season. The previous three games have all been in Mississippi with the Oilers winning two of those. The most recent was a 6-5 win on Tuesday.

Recent Action: Both teams are coming off three goal victories last night on their home ice. Mississippi defeated Bossier-Shreveport 4-1 on the strength of two goals by Cam Severson. Mississippi also had two power play goals last night. The Oilers scored four goals in the third period, their highest scoring period of the season (and seventh period this season they have scored at least three goals in a period) en route to a 5-2 win over Rapid City. T.J. Caig and Troy Riddle each scored twice for the Oilers.

Lotta Goals: If the previous three games between these teams are any indication, it could be a high scoring affair tonight. The two clubs have combined for 29 goals in the three games they have played this season.

Some Streaks: Rob Hisey and T.J. Caig are both on seven game point scoring streaks. Hisey has six goals and 13 assists for 19 points in that stretch, including two straight games of three assists each. Caig has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points in the last seven games, including two goals and an assist in each of the last two games. Although it's not much of a streak per se, Troy Riddle has managed points in each of his two games with the Oilers, registering three goals and two assists for five points.

Topping The Charts: Hisey's hot start on the season now has him all alone atop the CHL scoring chart. He has nine goals and 13 assists for 22 points in the Oilers nine games.

Next Up: The Oilers continue a three game homestand on Tuesday when they will host the Wichita Thunder at 7:05 p.m. Mississippi will visit Bossier-Shreveport next Thursday.
