CHARLESTON, SC - The South Atlantic League announced Monday that the Charleston RiverDogs will send three players to participate in the 51st SAL All-Star Game on June 22 at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C., home of the Southern Division's Greenville Drive.

The trio of RiverDogs appearing on the Southern Division All-Star roster include outfielder Zoilo Almonte, designated hitter Luke Murton and right-handed pitcher Ryan Flannery.

Almonte, listed on the Southern Division's roster as a utility outfielder, has appeared in 45 games for the RiverDogs this season. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native is currently batting .267 with 11 doubles, two triples, five homeruns, 15 RBI and five stolen bases.

Murton will be the starting designated hitter for the Southern Division squad. A 19th round selection of the New York Yankees in the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, Murton has started 54 games for Charleston, with 45 at first base and nine as DH. The former Georgia Tech standout has posted a .297 batting average, with 21 doubles, seven home runs and 32 RBI.

The McDonough, Ga. native put together a 14-game hitting streak from April 14-27, the second-longest streak in the league this season. This is the second year in a row a Charleston batter has started at DH for the All-Star team, as RiverDog Dan Brewer took the field at the same position in the 2009 All-Star Game at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W.Va.

RiverDogs' right-hander Ryan Flannery makes his first All-Star appearance in the Southern Division's bullpen. The Carlstadt, N.J. native has appeared in 20 games thus far this season, which ranks in the top 10 in the SAL. The former Farleigh Dickinson University standout has posted a 2.52 ERA and a 4-2 record, with nine saves, in 28.2 innings on the mound. The 6'4" right-handed hurler has given up 22 hits and eight earned runs, while striking out 24 batters.

The Savannah Sand Gnats, of the Southern Division, lead all league squads with six players selected. Hagerstown, Hickory and Kannapolis all have five players receiving the honors from the Northern Division.
