*Now Pitching: **Brandon Moore* will make his tenth start for the Savannah Sand Gnats. The Gnats are 4-5 when Moore throws and have supported him with 3.2 runs per game, the second-lowest mark among Gnats pitchers. Moore is tenth in the SAL with a 2.29 ERA, one of three Gnats in the top ten in the league in ERA. Moore leads the League in strikeouts with 76. Moore took a 2-2 game into the eighth inning in his last start, but gave up three runs on a three-run triple to Asheville's Avery Barnes that was the difference in a 5-2 game. Moore was 6-3 with a 2.09 ERA in 82 innings over 13 starts for the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2009, striking out 71 batters and walking 17. Hethrew the first no-hitter in Brooklyn Cyclones history on August 23, 2009 striking out six and walking three. The Brooklyn Cyclones beat the Aberdeen Ironbirds 5-0 in game one of a seven-inning doubleheader in Moore's no-hitter. The Mets drafted Moore in the 14th round out of Indiana Wesleyan University in 2008 where he was the Mid-Central College Conference Player of the Year.
*Now Pitching 2: Armando Rodriguez* is scheduled to make his 12th start for Savannah this evening after having his Saturday start postponed by the rain. Rodriguez walked four in his last start in Rome, but held the Braves to two runs in 5.2 innings in a game the Gnats won 5-2. The four walks were a season-high for Rodriguez, but it was the sixth time this year, that he has walked at least three in a start. With Kingsport a year ago, he was 3-1 with a 2.96 ERA with 36 strikeouts and 20 walks in 45.2 innings. Promoted to Savannah on August 27th, he finished the year with a dominant three-start performance in which he allowed just five hits in 16.2 innings and struck out 24. The Mets signed Rodriguez as a non-drafted free agent June 6, 2007. **
