AT THE DISH: The Isotopes offense put three runs on the board against El Paso starter MacKenzie Gore, widely considered to be the best pitching prospect in baseball ... José Briceño knocked home the first run of the game for the Isotopes with an RBI single in the second inning. He finished the game 1-for-4 ... In the third inning, Taylor Motter and Greg Bird connected on back-to-back RBI doubles to increase the Albuquerque lead to 3-0 at the time before El Paso scored five unanswered runs ... Sam Hilliard finished the game 2-for-3 with a walk ... Pitcher Brandon Gold also recorded a hit.

TOEING THE RUBBER: Isotopes starter Brandon Gold (0-1, 7.00) faced the minimum through the game's first three innings while not allowing a hit. He finished the game surrendering two runs over 4.1 innings on the mound, striking out three and walking one. The right-hander did not earn a decision ... Jairo Diaz took the loss, yielding two runs while recording just one out ... Chad Smith was charged with a blown save after allowing one run in his inning on the mound.

TOPES TIDBITS: Despite the loss, Thursday's contest was the first of the season for the Isotopes to outhit their opponents ... Neither team hit a home run in the game.
