LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® were defeated by the Alaska Aces 4-3 on Saturday night in front of 4,537 fans at the Orleans Arena. Aces forward Alexandre Imbeault recorded a hat trick, leading Alaska to the one-goal win. Las Vegas left wing Shawn Limpright scored two goals in the defeat. Wranglers' right wing Peter Ferraro also scored as Las Vegas fell to 8-6-0 at home this season. Las Vegas will host Alaska at 2:05 PM this Sunday at the Orleans Arena.
The Aces jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period with a pair of goals by Imbeault and another by defenseman Nick Tuzzolino. Imbeault tallied his seventh goal of the season at 9:36, giving Alaska a 1-0 lead. The Aces forward netted his second of the period at 17:25 to give Alaska a 2-0 lead with a power-play strike. Just 52-seconds later Alaska struck again on the power play. Tuzzolinio scored his second goal of the season at 18:17 for the 3-0 lead. Las Vegas cut the Aces lead to two with 41-seconds left in the period. Shawn Limpright scored his fourth goal of the season at 19:19, making it a 3-1 game.
Limpright scored again just 54-seconds into the second period to cut the Alaska lead to 3-2. Limpright's fifth goal of the season was set up by Matt Beaudoin. Alaska scored for the third time on the power play late in the middle period to reclaim the team's two-goal lead at 4-2. Imbeault completed the hat trick with his third goal of the night at 16:30.
The Wranglers trimmed the Aces lead to 4-3 at 11:35 of the third period. Right wing Peter Ferraro scored his second goal of the season, pulling Las Vegas within a goal.
The Wranglers will host Alaska at 2:05 pm this Sunday at the Orleans Arena. Las Vegas will conclude an eight-game home stand with Utah on January 2nd and 3rd at 7:30 PM.
