TONIGHT'S MATCHUP
Tonight's game marks the fourth game between the Reign and the Roadrunners in the 2008-09 season and the second between the teams at US Airways Center. The Reign are 1-0-0 against the Roadrunners on the road and hold a 2-1-0 overall record. The Reign took the victory against Phoenix in the last match-up, 4-3, in a shootout victory, in front of 4,628 fans on home ice at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Goaltender John Murray blocked three of five Roadrunners players in the shootout, with Todd Jackson, Maxime Boisclair and Chad Starling finding the net to give the Reign the, 4-3, win. The teams are scheduled to meet six additional times before the season ends, with three match-ups taking place at each team's home arena.
The Reign are currently in first place in the Pacific Division standings, with a 12 point lead over the Las Vegas Wranglers and the Stockton Thunder (24 points), with an overall record of 17-9-1-1 (36 points). The Reign are 9-5-1-0 in home games and 8-4-0-1 on the road.
