Dayton Bombers News Release

Dayton, OH- The Dayton Bombers had two second period goals but were unable to overtake the Reading Royals, falling 4-2 on Saturday night.

Late in the first period the Royals got on the board with a goal from Peder Skinner past Dayton's Tyler Plante. Although the Bombers outshot Reading 14-12, they were unable to get the puck past the Royals' Michael Ouzas.

Then in the second Justin Bowers netted his tenth of the year from Mike McLean and Dominic D'Amour. However, less than a minute later, Reading regained the lead with a shorthander from Brock Hooten. Jarret Lukin tied the game at two with helpers from D'Amour and Les Reaney at 18:33 of the frame. After two periods, the Bombers continued to outshoot Reading 22-18.

It was the Royals that took over in the third, scoring two more goals to take away the win. Despite the Bombers firing 16 more shots at Ouzas in the period, they weren't able to score again.

Plante finished the night 22 of 26, while Ouzas was 36 of 38. The Bombers went 1 of 8 on the power play and 3 of 5 on the penalty kill.
