Sea Wolves fall 3-2

BILOXI, MS - Ryan Menei scored a pair of goals in the first period, but the Sea Wolves ultimately fell to the South Carolina Stingrays 3-2 at the North Charleston Coliseum on Saturday evening.

Scott Romfo got the Stingrays on the board when his shot from the left point deflected past Sea Wolves goalie Ryan Munce at 4:07 of the first period. Just 51 seconds later, Ryan Menei went to the net and hammered the rebound of Mark Rooneem's drive to the net past South Carolina's Ian Vigier to even the score at one-apiece. Menei potted his second of the game, picking up another Rooneem rebound in the low slot at 15:35 of the first to give the Sea Wolves a 2-1 lead.

Maxime Lacroix evened the score for South Carolina when he hammered home the rebound of Brad Farynuk's shot from the point 3:49 into the second period.

Michael Dubuc scored the winner for the Stingrays when he grabbed the rebound of his own shot and made a wraparound move behind the net to beat Munce at 12:50 of the third period.

Ryan Munce made 30 saves on 33 shots, taking the loss for Mississippi, and the Sea Wolves were 0-for-6 on the power play.

Mississippi faces the South Carolina Stingrays tomorrow night at 6:05 p.m. CT at the North Charleston Coliseum in North Charleston, S.C. Fans can listen to the game at www.msseawolves.com or watch the game on the B2 Networks. The pre-game show will begin 15 minutes prior to game time.
