
Sea Wolves Announce Multiple Player Transactions

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves on Saturday announced that the Tampa Bay Lightning of the National Hockey League have reassigned forward Chris Lawrence and defenseman Scott Jackson from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League to the Sea Wolves, that the Admirals have assigned defenseman Brett Henley to the Sea Wolves, and that forward Chase Trull has been loaned to the Portland Pirates of the AHL, forward Ryan Cruthers has been loaned to the Lake Erie Monsters of the AHL, and defenseman Chris Zarb has been recalled to the Philadelphia Phantoms of the AHL. Additionally, the Sea Wolves have waived forward Travis Lisabeth.
Lawrence, a 6-foot-4, 217-pound right wing, has appeared in 19 games with the Admirals this season, scoring one goal and two assists with 18 penalty minutes. The second-year pro has skated in 72 career American Hockey League games - all with Norfolk - and has scored six goals and 13 assists with 50 penalty minutes.
Earlier this season, the 21-year-old appeared in seven games with the ECHL's Augusta Lynx, scoring one goal and two assists with 25 penalty minutes. Lawrence was drafted by the Lightning in the third round (89th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Jackson, a 6-foot-4, 213-pound native of Salmon Arm, British Columbia, has appeared in 16 games with Norfolk this season, registering one assist and seven penalty minutes. Jackson was signed by Tampa Bay as an unrestricted free agent on July 3. He was originally drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the second round, 37th overall, at the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
Henley, a 6-foot-6, 258-pound defenseman-turned-forward from Coquitlam, British Columbia, has appeared in 12 games with the Admirals and has registered 80 penalty minutes. Henley also had appeared in two games for Augusta earlier this season and was scoreless with two penalty minutes. Henley has appeared in 58 career AHL contests between the Admirals, Lowell Lock Monsters, Rochester Americans, Toronto Marlies, Edmonton RoadRunners, and Springfield Falcons. He has scored one goal and added four assists with 225 penalty minutes in those contests. In his eight-year professional career spanning 346 games between the AHL, ECHL, WCHL, UHL and IHL, Henley has scored ten goals and added 39 assists with 1,661 penalty minutes. A native of Farmingdale, New York, Cruthers has scored 18 goals and 17 assists in 29 games with the Sea Wolves this season, tying him for the ECHL lead in rookie scoring. Cruthers led College Hockey America in scoring in 2007-08, notching 22 goals and 27 points for the Robert Morris University Colonials, and turned pro following completion of senior season, picking up two assists in four regular season games with Utah, and scoring a goal and adding four assists in 15 Kelly Cup Playoff games as the Grizzlies made a run to the National Conference Finals.
Trull scored five goals and eight assists in 67 games with Mississippi in 2007-08, and through 24 games in 2008-09, the Rockwood, Ont.-native has three goals and seven assists with Mississippi and also appeared in four games with Philadelphia of the AHL, earning a -1 rating and five penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, the 6-3, 200-pound Trull played three years at St. Lawrence University, scoring six goals and 11 assists in 96 career games.
Zarb has appeared in 10 games for Mississippi, notching six assists and a -6 rating while earning 22 penalty minutes. Prior to turning professional, Zarb, who was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the 5th round (#144 overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, appeared in 79 games with Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich., scoring two goals and 27 assists and accruing 130 penalty minutes.
Lisabeth, 28, appeared in 23 games this season with Mississippi, scoring four goals and six assists while earning a -14 rating and 20 penalty minutes. Over parts of six seasons, Lisabeth appeared in 360 ECHL regular season games with the Sea Wolves, scoring 101 goals and 117 assists and earning 565 penalty minutes. In 34 Kelly Cup Playoff games, Lisabeth scored five goals, six assists, and notched 59 penalty minutes.
