Bridgewater, New Jersey - The Akron RubberDucks (60-37) defeated the Somerset Patriots (57-40) 5-3 in ten innings on Wednesday night at TD Bank Ballpark.

A Josh Breaux solo shot (4) with one out in the bottom of the ninth tied up the game to force extra innings, but the RubberDucks plated two runs in the tenth on RBI singles by Steven Kwan and George Valera for the win.

Brayan Rocchio got the scoring started with an early two-run homer (5) in the first off Patriots starter Ken Waldichuk. The southpaw then followed with four scoreless innings to finish the night with two runs on three hits and five strikeouts.

Isiah Gilliam's RBI groundout in the second and an RBI base hit by Michael Beltre in the fourth knotted up the game at 2-2.

Valera had a line drive single in the sixth that broke the tie and regained the lead for Akron.

Nick Mikolajchak (W, 2-4) picked up the win after he allowed a run on two hits in two innings. Zach Greene (L, 2-4) allowed two unearned runs on four hits in an inning of work for the loss.

Somerset continues its six-game series against Akron on Thursday night. First pitch at TD Bank Ballpark is set for 7:05 p.m.
