LOOKING AHEAD:
An interconference showdown of hot teams pits Houston against Hartford on Wednesday at the Hartford Civic Center... The Aeros have won a season-high four straight games and are kicking off a four-game swing through New England over a five-day span, while the Wolf Pack come in 7-0-0-1 in their last eight outings... Reigning Rbk/AHL Player of the Week Nigel Dawes has 19 points (8-11-19) in his last eight games, including a team-record six points in Saturday's 7-1 win at Worcester... Wolf Pack scoring leader Pierre-Alexandre Parenteau (13-15-28) has a goal in four of his last five outings (4-5-9)... Second-year pro Greg Moore is tied for second in the league with 14 goals... Defenseman Erik Reitz leads the Aeros with 14 points (5-9-14), and center Steve Kelly scored twice in the club's 4-3 win at Manitoba on Saturday... Nolan Schaefer has won his last five starts for Houston, posting a 1.57 GAA and .937 save percentage over that span.
Also Wednesday, Quad City travels to San Antonio for the first of a two-game set at the AT&T Center... The Flames have won 10 of their last 14 games but lost two meetings with the Rampage last month... Center Krys Kolanos has 10 points (5-5-10) in 11 games since joining Quad City, including a goal in three straight; the Flames are 7-1-0-0 when Kolanos registers a point and 0-3-0-0 when he doesn't... Grant Stevenson paces Quad City in goals (10) and points (23), and he brings a five-game scoring streak (3-6-9) into Wednesday's action... Rookie goaltender Matt Keetley is coming off back-to-back wins, his first W's since opening night vs. Rockford... The Rampage are 3-2-1-0 so far on their season-high 11-game homestand... Leading scorer Joel Perrault (13-13-26) has a six-game scoring streak (5-3-8), and his 13 goals are tied with Joey Tenute (13-9-22) for the team lead... A win on Wednesday would put San Antonio seven games over the .500 mark for the first time since November 2003.
In Thursday's only AHL action, Rochester begins a three-game swing through Illinois with a tilt against Chicago at Allstate Arena... The Americans, who will continue on to Rockford and Peoria, have lost three straight games for the first time since a five-game winless skid from Oct. 13-20 (0-4-0-1)... Third-year pro Mark Mancari leads Rochester in both assists (17) and points (23), and he has a point in four of his last five games (4-3-7)... Clarke MacArthur has notched a point in nine of his last 10 AHL games (7-9-16), including three assists in Sunday's 4-3 loss to Binghamton... The Wolves will be looking to snap a season-high four-game losing streak... Brett Sterling has five multiple-goal games for Chicago this season, compared to just two one-goal efforts...
